The table can choose any of our tasting menus. We have an extensive wine list which showcases wines from France and New Zealand. Pairing wines to complement your menu can be selected by our Sommelier on request.

The French Kitchen seats 36 guests for seated meals, 50+ guests for cocktails and canapes and 60 guests for a theatre style seating.
A portable projector is available on request free of charge.

This is the ultimate chef’s table experience using the freshest of ingredients from our flourishing edible garden in our beautiful courtyard. The French Café is an ideal space for large groups such as weddings and other private events.
Our chefs will design a set menu for your event, suitable for your budget.All dietary requirements will be catered for.

The Conservatory
Bathed in natural light and opening out to our private courtyard and kitchen garden, The Conservatory is a serene and elegant space within The French Café. Overlooking a tranquil water feature and outdoor fireplace, this inviting area offers a seamless connection between indoor comfort and outdoor charm.
Available during the spring and summer months, The Conservatory is gently warmed by outdoor heaters, making it a comfortable and atmospheric space for dining and events in the warmer seasons. Whether you're hosting a celebration or enjoying a leisurely lunch, it’s a beautiful spot to relax, surrounded by greenery and soft light, right in the heart of Auckland.

Exclusive Use & Private Events at The French Café
For those seeking a truly unforgettable experience, The French Café is available for full venue hire, accommodating up to 100 guests for a seated meal across all our beautiful spaces — including the main dining room, courtyard, Conservatory, French Kitchen, and Cellar.
There are no venue hire fees; instead, we operate on a minimum spend basis, allowing you to allocate your budget towards exceptional food, fine wines, and impeccable service. Whether you’re planning a wedding, milestone celebration, or corporate event, our team will work closely with you to tailor every detail to your vision.

The Godfather of German Riesling
French Café is honoured to host an exclusive one-night-only dinner with Ernst Loosen, one of the most influential winemakers of our time, visiting New Zealand for the very first time.
This is his only formal event in NZ.
Owner and winemaker of Weingut Dr Loosen in Germany’s famed Mosel region, Ernst Loosen is globally revered for redefining Riesling and championing its elegance, longevity, and sense of place. Known as much for his warmth and storytelling as for his wines, Ernst brings passion, deep knowledge, and effortless entertainment to the table.
His accolades are many, including:
German Winemaker of the Year - Gault-Millau (2001)
“Man of the Year” - Decanter Magazine (2005)

Join us for Friends & Flowers at The French Café, a beautifully curated fundraising luncheon in support of Breast Cancer Cure. This special event features a three-course lunch created by our own award-winning chef, Sid Sahrawat, and is hosted by Breast Cancer Cure ambassador Nerida Jantti.
You’ll be inspired by an amazing lineup of New Zealand women:Chand Sahrawat — restaurateur, life coach, co-owner of The French Café, and passionate supporter of wahine leaders

Saturday 14th February
Celebrate Valentine’s Day with an intimate evening of food and Champagne. Begin with a glass of Louis Roederer Champagne on arrival, before indulging in a thoughtfully curated four-course tasting menu, with snacks to start, created to be shared and savoured.
This Valentine’s Day experience is $195 per person, with full payment required at the time of booking.
We can accommodate some dietary requirements, eg Pescatarian, Gluten Free, Dairy Free, Vegetarian and Vegan; however, guests are kindly asked to contact the restaurant before booking to confirm suitability if they have other requirements.
